Volleyball: young team
set to improve on wins
The Wesley Wolverine volleyball team lost a couple of key seniors last year, but Head Coach Juli Greep also has been busy recruiting, picking up as many as eight freshman for the new season.

Still, there are high hopes the team will beat their best overall record of 15-13 that they set last fall.
► Will a career record be broken on opening day?
One reason is junior #3 L/DS Meghan Marshall (Wilmington, Del.). She had 477 digs last year and nearly 1000 in the past two years. She may well break Wesley's career record before this September, when the Wolverines take the court in the first game on the schedule!

This year Meghan will co-captain with senior #32 L/DS Rachel Hausler (Califon, N.J.), whose deft ball handling makes her always among the team leaders in many categories: diggs, kills, assists and service aces.
Much is also expected of returning sophomore #1 OH Arnelle Akakpo (Rahway, N.J.) who was tops on the team with 211 kills in her first year.

The team opens the 2014 season later this month as they play away in a non-conference contest against the St. Elizabeth Screaming Eagles in Morristown, NJ, on Friday, August 29.
