Volleyball home opener
packs stands for Wolverines

The stands were full with Wesley students, family, friends, and fans at the opening home game of Wolverine volleyball last night, September 9, 2014, in the Wentworth Gymnasium on campus.

One player was sidelined. Last year's kills leader, sophomore #1 OH Arnelle Akakpo (Rahway, NJ), sat on the bench with a bandaged knee from an injury picked up on the Wolverines' successful road trip.

Next home match is tomorrow, Thursday, September 11, against the Rosemont Ravens. Game time is at 6:00 PM, an hour earlier than usually scheduled evening contests.

VOLLEYBALL ENDED THE 2013 SEASON tallying a program-best 15-13 overall record.

THE WOLVERINES PLAY at home in the Wentworth Gymnasium, which is located in the heart of the Wesley campus at South Governor's Ave. & Fulton St., Dover, DE. The gym has seating for 350 fans.

THE WESLEY MASCOT

like a wolf. Instead, it more closely resembles a small bear. The wolverine has a reputation for ferocity and strength out of proportion to its size, with the documented ability to defend itself against prey many times larger than itself.
